Meet: Mrs Jackson
My name is Candice Jackson and I am your child’s new teacher. This is my 11th year teaching for Detroit Public Schools. I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from Michigan State University (Go Spartans!). I am eager to work with you in helping your child recognize and develop a life long love of learning. I accept every child as an individual with unique talents and experiences. I will make every effort to ensure that his/her needs are met.
You and I have the common goal of making sure your child gets a great education. The best way to accomplish this goal is by working together. This will be especially important as your child transitions between teachers. I will do my part as the teacher at school and am asking you to be the educator at home. When your child comes home with papers, ask them to explain their work and/or practice the areas in which your child had difficulty. If you ever have problems or need help with any concerns please contact me. I am always available with advance notice to meet with you, or to talk to you on the phone or email.
I strongly believe that a close relationship between home, school, and child provides the best possible learning environment. I look forward to working with you the remainder of the year to foster a solid foundation for your child’s education.
